Lucky Winner of the new Hanna Stamps' set!!!

Thank you, everyone, for your lovely comments about your favorite Thanksgiving memories. I really enjoyed reading them! It's so nice to know that we all have so very, very many things to be thankful for, isn't it?? (And it was nice to know that there really are people out there checking in on my blog once in a while!! That makes me feel great!!)
Anyway...I've probably kept you in suspense long enough! I used Random.org to pick a number (and using only one post per person...), and the lucky winner is:

Michelle Woerner (sf9erfan on SCS)!!!

Here's what Michelle had to say:

First... great blog! Just found it. Congrats on being on multiple design teams!! My fav Thanksgiving memory has to be my first time at hosting. I ran around like a crazy person for almost 2 days cleaning and prepping for dinner, was up at the crack of dawn starting the turkey only to discover at dinner time I messed up the stuffing, burned the rolls and cooked the turkey UPSIDE DOWN! We had a great time anyway. Hugs, michelle.

Michelle, if you'll PM me over on SCS, and let me know your snail mail address, I'll get the information to Kristi (the owner of Hanna Stamps!), and she'll get the set mailed out to you right away! You are going to enjoy this set SO much!! CONGRATULATIONS!! Thanks again, everybody, for playing!
I'll be back tomorrow morning to post some creations that I'm currently working on. Have a great evening!

Rainy Day Hanna

This adorable scene is part of the Hanna Stamps set called 'Rain, Rain, Come This Way!'. It's an adorable set of 13 stamps....the main image of Hanna holding her umbrella, plus 12 smaller stamps, including a cute little duck, an adorable worm---(yes, this worm is adorable!), rockin' boots.... SO many ways to create any rainy-day scene you could possibly think of!
This card measures approximately 5.5 inches by 7 inches....the main image in the Hanna sets is nice and big, which makes them great for paper-piecing. I've just recently begun to try this technique, and it's so much fun to create different outfits this way. It's kind of like playing with paper dolls all over again...and we could all use an excuse to act like a kid again!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day with their families and friends, and had safe travel to wherever you were going.... The amount of traffic on the roads was unbelievable....and we met more police cars than I think we ever have in the past. One of my three brothers is a policeman, and I'm sure he kept busy with the holiday travelers yesterday. He's one of those nice-guy policeman though...just the kind of guy you'd like to have around if something bad happened. (Hi Mike, if you're reading this!) OK, I am a bit biased....but he is an amazing man.
Does anyone have any funny food mishaps to tell about from their Thanksgiving meal? (Like still-frozen turkey, or dropping the pie on the floor?) I'd love to hear about them! I ate way too much amazing food....I could exercise non-stop for the next few days and still not wear off all the calories! I'm not going to feel guilty though....that's what the holiday is all about!
Don't forget to enter for the Hanna Stamps giveaway in the previous post....all you have to do is leave an entry telling me about your favorite Thanksgiving memory. There's still a few days left to get your entry in for a chance to win this cute sentiment set.
Have a great day everybody...and thanks for stopping by!

It's Official......My Favorite Things Design Team!!

I'M SO EXCITED!!!
I have been doing the Happy Dance! I'm SO excited to be able to tell you that I am now a member of the Design Team for My Favorite Things!! I was SO floored when Kim contacted me, and I still have trouble believing it's true! Kim has always had the most amazingly talented designers on her team....and I am thrilled to now be a part of it all. Kim is such a dear, sweet person, and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds as part of the MFT family! WooHoo!

I had this idea in my head as soon as I saw this MFT set 'It's a Jungle Out There'. I have had this leopard-print paper for a while now, and knew that I would find the perfect way to use it.....someday. When I finally got this set, this paper came to mind immediately.
I wanted to make up a gift set that would be appropriate for a young boy. I found this wooden picture frame in the clearance section at Michaels (I think I paid twenty-five cents for it). I also made a small 3x3 box to match---I'll probably use it to hold a small gift or gift card. (The directions for this super-easy box can be found on Nichole Heady's blog). This stamp set is SO much fun to color! SO many possibilities!
My Favorite Things is having a 'Celebrate MFT' day today (Nov. 20th) over at SCS. Upload your creations or projects using the code 'MFTNOV07' so we are all able to view the beautiful things you've made. This is a day to encourage you to get creative and play with your favorite MFT stamps. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
Have a great day everybody---Happy Stamping!

A Second Post for Today...Sleigh Bells

I CASE's one of my all-time favorite cards from Tosh (stamps4funinCA on SCS) for this creation. You can see her fabulous beauty, Stylin' Snowman, here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...amp;perpage=48 (Hope I added the link correctly!) Tosh has such an amazing gift for adding just the right touch to every inch of her creations....I guarantee that you'll add a bunch of beauties to your favorites album too! I did add some swirls from Bronc Buster to several panels...it just seemed to need something. I also ended up stamping several images & cutting apart the leaves of the holly image in Sleigh Bells Ring, and combing the leaf that I liked best to make it fit the space I had. I have several more creations to post, but need to run errands now, so I'll try to stop back a little later. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Stamps: Sleigh Bells Ring, Bronc Buster
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Really Ruse, Sage Shadow, Naturals Ivory, Outlaw DP
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: SU markers, ticket corner punch, brads, dimensionals, ribbon, distressing tool.

A Bouquet of Poinsettias....

This set Build a Bouquet (by My Favorite Things) is SO much fun to work with! SO many endless possibilities... I decided to make some poinsettias, and pulled my colors for the card from the colors in SU's Dashing designer paper. I separated each layer of the flower with dimensionals, to give it some depth, and also raised most of my other layers on dimensionals as well. (The color of the ribbon appears a bit off in the photo, but it really does match IRL.) This card ended up pretty thick and heavy--I think it may need to be hand-delivered! Thanks for looking, I hope you like it! Have a wonderful day!

Stamps: MFT Build a Bouquet
Paper: Old Olive, Rose Red, River Rock, Vanilla, Dshing DP
Ink: Old Olive, River Rock, Rose Red
Accessories: Brads, ticket corner punch (SU), Cuttlebug & Swirls embossing folder, ribbon, gold cord, dimensionals, sponge daubers.

Wedding Card by request....

I created this card as a specific request of my Mom, who needs a wedding card. I really struggle with 'fancy' cards.... I always think of Sharon's (notimetostamp) amazing creations. She has such a gift! Her gallery is filled with stunning, fancy & elegant cards. If Sharon sees this, I hope she likes it---and I hope you all like it too!! Thanks for looking, and have a good evening everyone!!

Stamps: Fabulous Flowers, En Francais, Wonderful Words
Paper: Papertrey white, SU brushed silver
Ink: Going Grey
Accessories: Silver embossing powder, brads, ticket corner punch, dazzling diamonds, glue pen, ribbon, silver cord .

A Holly Jolly Reindeer and a Sketch Challenge

Love this little guy....though I think he's been feeling neglected!! I almost started playing Christmas music while making this---but thought I'd better not tempt fate---I don't want the snow to start flying quite so soon. (Especially since we're taking care of snow removal for our elderly neighbor this winter.) Ugh...don't want to think about that kind of stuff just yet. I want to enjoy Fall weather a bit longer....say 'til Christmas Eve???

Stamps: MFT-Hare for the Holidays
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Papertrey white, Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy, Basic Grey-Fruitcake
Ink: Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Distressing Tool, Ticket Corner & Word Window punches, ribbon, Copic & SU markers, dimensionals, brads, hardware.

This was created for this week's sketch challenge on SCS....a great forum for trying new layouts & finding inspiration!! SCS is such a fabulous site---SO much talent, willingness to share and encouragement from others! One of my favorite parts of SCS is the 'Dirty Dozen' gallery---with new designs by the current design team members unveiled on the 15th of every month! For a small fee, you are able to view some unbelievable creations made by super-talented artists AND help support the greatest stamping site on the web! I tried paper-piecing and used a scrap of Basic Grey DP to make Santa's outfit for this card.

Stamps: Naughty or Nice, MFT-Sassy Sayings
Paper: Ruby Red, Old Olive, white, Basic GreyFruitcake
Ink: Old Olive, Ruby Red
Accessories: Copic markers, Stickles, ribon, brads, ticket corner punch, Cuttlebug & die, dimensionals, distressing tool.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at what I've made today. Be sure to introduce yourselves and say 'Hi'!! Have a wonderful day!

A Creative Weekend......

I wanted to make this card look a little bit like a Christmas package, and since I found some fabulous ribbon this weekend, I thought I'd use some of it to pull it all together. I added lots of sparkle with Stickles...after all, what's Christmas without sparkle and bright colors? It looks like Hanna is decorating her tree outside while it's snowing, but in 'stamp-land', anything is possible, right? I used a pretty basic layout for this card so Hanna could 'shine' in her gorgeous holiday outfit! On each layer, I used the ticket corner punch and sponged the edges----it seems bare to me if I don't complete those steps. When I create, it feels like a square corner or plain edge looks like it needs 'dressing up' and I just can't leave them alone. Now that Hanna has placed her gifts under the tree, she's off to do more shopping!

Stamps: Hanna Stamps 'But I Need It'
Paper: American Crafts DP, Old Olive, Real Red, White
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red
Accessories: Ticket corner punch, brads, ribbon, dimensionals, Liquid Applique, heat tool, Stickles, sponge daubers.

I just love the cheery, bright colors in the Dashing DP (SU). I added a LOT of Stickles for sparkle...it makes me think of the tinsel my parents put on the Christmas tree when I was a little girl. I always loved looking at the colors of the strings of lights reflecting in the shiny strands of tinsel, and the bright colored ornaments hanging from each branch. Such wonderful memories....memories that I am lucky to have, and will always treasure.

Stamps: Naughty or Nice, Warm Words
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Old Olive, Real Red, white (Papertrey), Dashing DP
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red, River Rock
Accessories: Copic markers, Ticket Corner & Photo Corner punches (SU), small & large oval punches (SU), brads, Old Olive ribbon, silver cord, Liquid Applique, heat tool, Stickles, sponge daubers.

I think I fiddled with the ribbon on this card for at least an hour---I just couldn't seem to figure out where to put it. I finally added a square-spiral clip, and some small ribbon 'tabs', and 'poof!', that's what it needed! Funny how the creative process moves along, huh? I also used my 'Tres Chic' background stamp for the first time---at first I wasn't sure that I liked it, but now I am SO glad that I ordered it! I love the look it gives and the way it enhances the main image without overpowering it.

Stamps: Penny Black ('Blush' is the name on the stamp), Much Appreciated, Tres Chic BG (SU)
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Naturals Ivory, Basic Grey-Infuse DP
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Accessories: Ticket corner punch, brads, ribbon, HPH, SU markers, dimensionals, sponge daubers.
Thanks for stopping by to visit---I'll have more to post tomorrow! Have a wonderful day everyone!!
